The Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program prepares students with entry-level skills and knowledge to practice in the role of a Registered Nurse in a variety of health care settings. Graduates receive the Associate of Science Degree in Nursing and are prepared to take the NCLEX-RN (state licensing examination) to obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California. The program consists of four semesters (two academic years) of nursing course work after completion of program prerequisite courses and selection into the program.

A career as a Registered Nurse can be rewarding, flexible, and challenging. The majority of RNs work in acute care, providing direct care to patients with a variety of medical conditions. You should have a fairly good aptitude for math and science, good communication skills, and be comfortable working closely with people. Registered Nurses find work in hospitals, long-term care facilities, schools, insurance companies, and other healthcare environments.
