Biography and Statement:��

Juan Santiago was born in 1973 in Manila, Philippines and immigrated to the US in 1992. He received his undergraduate degree with high distinction in Ceramic Arts at California College of the Arts and Crafts where he developed his strong sense of craft with multiple mediums under tutelage and apprenticeships of Arthur Gonzales, Hedi Earnst, John Toki, Peter Voulkos, Jim Melchert and Marilyn Levine. He earned his MFA at Alfred University where he completed his thesis exhibition called ��ٲ��Գ��ٳܳ�” based on his first existential experience of art found within the walls of historic Spanish Colonial Churches in the Philippines. In 2004, Santiago started gaining international experience living, working and exhibiting in Thailand and China as a Visiting Lecturer and Artist in Residence.��

By producing art objects and linear sentence-like installations, Santiago continues to make connections with existential and contemplative human experiences with traditional and non-traditional methods in clay and other mediums. His work is in the collections of Foshan Museum of Ceramic Art China, Schein-Joseph International Museum of Ceramic Art New York and notable collectors throughout the United States and Southeast Asia.
