ILP/YESS Program

The Independent Living Program/Youth Empowerment Strategies for Success (ILP/YESS) is designed to support foster youth as they transition into adulthood and independent living. 

The program offers workshops, resources, and hands-on training in areas such as financial literacy, employment readiness, housing, health, and education planning. By equipping youth with practical skills and connecting them to supportive services, ILP/YESS helps participants build confidence, achieve stability, and prepare for long-term success in college, career, and life.

Directly support students with:

  1. One-on-one advising
  2. Textbook Vouchers
  3. Free school supplies
  4. Computer access and printing
  5. Student lounge space
  6. Educational workshops and events
  7. Social/community building events

Assist students with:

  1. Housing insecurity
  2. Food insecurity
  3. Transportation barriers
  4. Financial emergencies
  5. Employment
  6. Mental health and wellness
  7. Physical health and wellness
  8. Financial Aid and Registration

NextUp

NextUp provides extra support to current and former foster youth under age 26 who were in care after their 13th birthday. 

Services include: 

  • Book and supply assistance
  • Academic counseling
  • Transportation help
  • Emergency grants
  • Access to campus resources
